Date Set for The 2010 Bandmasters Championship

The University of Memphis Band Alumni Chapter is pleased to announce that The Bandmasters Championship will be held on Saturday, October 23rd at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis.
The Bandmasters Championship is proud to carry on the tradition of University of Memphis marching band contests that dates back to 1963. The contest has established itself as the pinnacle of high school marching competion in the Memphis/Mid-South region - the place where top bands from Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri and beyond converge to be crowned "Best of the Best". 2009 was a record year for participation, with 29 performing bands and total attendance in excess of 6,000.
The 62,000 seat Liberty Bowl offers a state-of-the-art FieldTurf playing surface, terrific sightlines for fans and a completely enclosed environment that focuses attention squarely where it belongs - on the performers. The contest also features a national panel of adjudicators, committed to providing feedback that will help each band reach its full potential. Of course, there's all the pageantry fans have come to expect from a major regional championship - including our unique crystal and glass trophies, and class championship banners.
Again this year, we are proud to offer high-camera web video coverage of all participating bands! This gives directors, band members and fans the opportunity to review every performance as many times as they want...absolutely free! To date, over 30,000 viewers have enjoyed our 2008 and 2009 videos.
